I'm not a huge people person either. But I do enjoy spending time with family. Big family get together on my side this year so that is what we will be doing. Should be lots of fun.

Snow? Ya got some of that last night. Made driving home at 5pm a lot of fun. Dark and snowy. Yay... Oh well. Supposed to warm back up a bit to the upper 40's this week.

hubby says the car doors got frozen shut since it rained first, then snowed, and the temps never got back up above freezing.

my family lives all over the country so no real get togethers any more (last one was my niece's wedding...dang its been a year now)....hubbys family...being a kid of divorced parents makes for difficult holidays lets just say.

not having a good sinus day...I feel like there is a balloon trying to expand in them, not quite sure why I even got out of bed today.....so I am thinking an early nap---LONG nap

Ours rarely gets all together like we will this year. Mainly because my cousins have started to spread out. But most of us still live in the midwest.

Luckily our car doors here didn't freeze. Though mine took a little work to open...

So we are going to be outside today. From 8:15-9:15. In below freezing weather. To pick up trash and put down mulch. And possibly plant stuff. All because one teacher, who admins LOVE, got a grant from Lowe's to do this stuff last year. And the grant expires this month. So of course we wait until it is freezing outside to do it. Great plan guys... Wonder how many students will get sick... And how many will refuse to do it.

well, here there is still snow on the ground and yes, they are mowing the lawn!! (er grass stops growing when it gets to these temps...there is NO NEED TO MOW). /facepalm

yeah, I can imagine if they had the amount of parent phone calls they would be receiving!

another cold one today...though they say it will get warmer for the weekend, most of the trees dropped leaves (tons on my balcony), so I hope to get them swept off during that 'warmer' weather.

Lots of parents would have called in. Some students didn't come because they thought we were going outside. Don't blame them one bit.

It is supposed to be warmer. But we are maybe in for some severe storms on Sunday because it is supposed to be in the 60's!

dang really bad weather today....had the weather on and we have had heavy windy rain....looks like they have even stopped the bears game (so its gotta be pretty bad)....also heard there have been some tornadoes!....one close to you pwnd! (hope you and your family are all ok).

Yes. One very close. A large portion of my hometown is leveled. My parents are fine, they lived out of the path of it, but it still only missed them by a mile or less. Just a large portion gone. I was the luckiest of my family as I still have power. Had the sirens go off and very tiny hail with lots of wind and lightening, but nothing else came of it. The rest of my family is without power, but all okay. I have lots of friends who have lost everything. It is just a sobering experience... 37 people are in the hospital from this storm, but I have yet to hear if any one has died from it yet. Going to try to find time to go help with the clean up operation once that gets under way... Very sad Sunday...

wow, good to hear your family is doing ok pwnd,...from the news there are a few deaths (4?) and it came pretty close to my old hometown as well (was watching and lots of those town names are VERY familiar!) and I have some friends in Pekin...will be trying to get in touch with them tomorrow.

very sobering indeed.
we jut got plenty of rain and wind and more wind and yes, more wind...and now the temps are dropping---watch out if you live in upper east coast area as this is coming your way (especially if you are in canada around toronto!)

They are saying 5 now, though I keep hearing conflicting reports of whether or not someone did die in Washington or not. I have heard there wasn't anyone and I have heard there was 1 person. So who knows. But yes, definitely seems like an extremely lucky death toll if there is only 4 or 5. It is extremely saddening and hard to watch some of the videos. I can sit there and watch a place I remember get torn apart by the tornado... Just glad that most everyone is okay. Town is pulling together to get back on track and it will recover. Just going to take time.

That is pretty much whats up at the moment Malice. Going to be a sobering Thanksgiving I think.

yeah it is....I remember when the lemont tornado went thru (1970's)...I had been there a few times...and then it was....gone. Had been back and they did rebuild, silly because that area is tornado alley basically (think they had another one go thru in the last 20 years or so too). There are just some places that I would never want to live or even think about buying property.

That is the first one in a long time to do that kind of destruction to that area. I know they will rebuild, it is just going to take time.

Had a tough time sleeping last night. Was hard to do so knowing that I have friends who don't have a bed to sleep in. Hoping that going into work today will help take my mind off it a bit. Need to plan a time to get to my parents and see what damage was done to their property and what needs to be cleaned up.
